Ottawa October 1st 2009 – What are your visitors doing now? Tapping into Twitter with Social SignageTM
As part of the GTEC 2009 workshop program, the team from CornerPortal and Virtual EyeSee will be hosting a conversation on a hyper-local social media platform we call: Social SignageTM
We will explore the concept: What are your visitors doing now?
This concept has been developed for museums and galleries to drive new traffic to their buildings and exhibits and to create another mechanism for these institutions to connect with their community.
Social-SignageTM is a mash-up of real-time social media methods and digital signage, developed to encourage “in venue participation and engagement”.
Social SignageTM enables visitors to interact and share their comments during their visit. In doing so they will contribute to a social media stream that others can discover via the Web 2.0 universe and become curious about the environment that stimulated those responses: your institution and exhibits!
We believe we can help make our museums and galleries a dynamic and social destination for people to meet, socialize, and shape their world view. Come join us in the conversation!
