The State of the Word

Matt Mullenweg at WordCamp Toronto!!! He started with “The State of the Word is strong”. Matt is the founding developer of WordPress.
WordCamps this year, 18 so far and 9 more to go this year. The most interesting setting was Wordcamp in the Philippines. Matt was on a karaoke system, there was a pool directly in front of him. The audience was behind the pool in the shelter, staying away from the rain. The buffet was to Matt’s right.

In Greece Word Camp is from noon till 4pm with a large focus on the dinner.

Drum roll and the number one plugin is Akismet!!!

A huge groan from the audience when Matt announced the biggest change in WordPress 2.7 = total redesign of dashboard.

The menu is on the left hand side. Drag and drop capability to customize the look and feel of Blog admin page.

Inline Editing – regular edit for posts and inline as well
Comments API – manage comments from desktop client, directly reply from comment form
